I founded Brighteye Driving School in 2013 after spending 22 years as a taxi driver, including many years operating a Total Mobility vehicle. I spent long 12‑hour shifts transporting children to school, supporting disabled passengers to appointments, and assisting drivers with a wide range of mobility needs.
Driving in every imaginable condition taught me patience, awareness, and how to stay calm under pressure.
That real‑world experience now shapes my teaching style. I bring a calm, supportive, and practical approach to every lesson, meeting each learner where they are and helping them grow into confident, capable, and safe drivers.
Donna
I’ve been a driving instructor for seven years, but my passion for driving started long before that. As a mother of four, I taught each of my children to drive, and through those experiences I discovered how much I enjoy helping people learn, grow, and become confident behind the wheel. That’s what led me into instructing — and it’s still what motivates me every day.
I’ve always loved driving, and I hold a Class 4 licence along with wheels, tracks, and rollers endorsements. That background gives me a strong foundation in both everyday driving and specialised vehicle skills, which I bring into my teaching.
My approach is calm, patient, and practical. I use a range of teaching methods — diagrams, demonstrations, and clear step‑by‑step guidance — to support each learner in the way that works best for them. No two students are the same, so I meet people where they’re at and help them build confidence one skill at a time.
My goal is to support every student to become a capable, safe, and confident driver.
